Liverpool signs Ronald Araujo on loan from FC Barcelona
The captain of Spanish football giants FC Barcelona joins Liverpool on a long-term loan deal ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
Araujo joins the Merseyside-based club as a temporary replacement for Ibrahima Konate, who joined Real Madrid as a free agent from Liverpool after failing to extend his contract following the expiration of his contract at Liverpool.
Injuries to long-term defensive replacements for Konate and Van Dijk, Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni, influenced the Reds' decision to bring in an experienced defender, Ronaldo Araujo, as they slowly integrate the two young center-backs into the team.
Liverpool will cover 100 percent fo Araujo's salary while he spends the rest of the season on loan at Anfield.
