40-year-old Ashley Young retires from football

Former England International Ashley Young retires from football at age forty.

The former Three Lions winger had an incredible career path playing for teams like Watford, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Everton and Ipswich Town.

Ashley scored 78 times and assisted 35 times all across his football career for both club and country. 

The former Manchester United play maker took to his twitter page to announce his retirement from active football with the statement below.

 “From Sefton Road to Vicarage Road to Villa Park to Wembley to Old Trafford to San Siro back to Villa Park to Goodison Park and finally to Portman Road. It’s been some journey that I only dreamt of as a boy! But with this dream there has to be an ending and Saturday might be the Last Game Of My Professional Career🤘🏾💛💜🤍❤️💙 23 years and OUT!
